Friends & Neighbor Christmas Treat Bags

When I saw this idea in Woman’s Day last month I knew I would be doing it for our friends and neighbors. What could be easier than using a brown lunch sack and adding ribbon with a cookie cutter?  We changed it up a little bit the original idea used a scalloped circle instead of the snowflake in the middle but I thought that it was a little bit beyond my kids abilities so we made snowflakes!  You fill the bag with whatever you want (a cookie mix might be a nice idea).  3 down a lot more too go!

Wondering about the cookie cutters? I got a box of 20 cookie cutters at Michaels on clearance for just a couple of bucks! Awesome

P.S. If you’re my neighbor feel free to act surprised Smile

Felt Journals & Book Page Notebook

Here is an idea for a really easy Christmas gift.  My kids love them and they love to help make them too.  You could make yours as simple or as fancy as you wanted depending on the use and who is helping you make them.

The Notebook

I used a page out of an old Chicken Soup for the Soul Book to make these little notebooks (they’re about 3 1/2 x 5 inches).  Then I just added some embellishments.  I made some smaller notepad sized ones too.

For the journals I got a composition notebook and covered it with felt and added embellishments.  These are the ones the kids really help out with and had a great time doing them.

We covered the inside cover of the journals and the notebooks with cardstock.

Because my kids are so young ours are pretty simple but you could go crazy with this idea and really make some cool gifts.

Joy To The World / Wooden Letters

My parents–in–law gave us these beautiful wooden J O Y ‘s a couple of years ago that they had made.  So when I was in charge of doing activities for the ladies at our church we made the J O Y ‘s too.  Then a couple of years later we made the N O E L ‘s.

Christmas (dollar store) Wreath

I found a place in my house this fall that I LOVE to hang wreaths from.  I made a Halloween wreath this year and was dying to try another for Christmas so here is what I came up with I got everything including the lights at the dollar store…YEAH!

I’ve also really been into making bows, it’s something I never really thought of doing before, but I’m glad I started.
